My Secret to Living a Healthier life.

Living a healthy life full of wellness and happiness isn’t just about what you eat or how you exercise.

I hear all too often how my clients want to lose weight, but having tried all the diets out there nothing works. Or how they are hitting the gym 3 days a week but still can’t fit into the clothes they love.

I understand! I have been frustrated with my image over the years, too fat, too frumpy, too much!

But it wasn’t until I took on my own coach and then became a coach that I found the secret to feeling good about myself.

This is what I introduce to my clients on their first session, along with a 3-month goal sheet.

This is my total holistic approach to healthy living and it’s something I want to share with everyone!

 

Ok, so what is this secret? Well probably not a secret, to be honest, I’ve seen lots of coaches’ use similar versions of it. I’m talking about the Circle of Life or the Holistic Approach to health and wellbeing.

The basic premise of this concept is that, whilst complete balance is quite difficult to achieve all of the time, at least gaining some balance in all areas of your life is worth investing in.

All areas of life? What is that all about? Ok, so you know when you have a really crappy day at work, it seems like it was doomed to go wrong from the moment you set foot out of bed.  Because you are feeling out of sorts, things start to go wrong, you feel bad, you reach for the chocolate/cigarette/wine/ice-cream (or all of them!)  And then you feel worse because you didn’t really want those things.

We tend to focus on weight loss as a primary force; we diet, exercise and still, nothing happens. If you don’t feel great about your job/career then the chances are your stress levels will be high. This can affect your body in all manner of ways. Or if you are going through some troubling relationship issues, you might not feel like eating properly.

If you don’t have a creative outlet for your daily stressors, your body could react in a negative way, you feel sad, low in mood, poor body confidence…

Do you see where I am going with this… there are several areas of our life that we can really focus on to create a level playing field for ourselves?  If we are on a fairly even keel the chances of living a healthier lifestyle are higher, if one or more of these areas are out of kilter then the chances of feeling awesome are lower

So what are these areas then? What can focus on to create a more even balance in our lives?

Don’t worry these are all very common things to us all, it’s nothing outside of your comfort zone, and it’s really easy to work out which area to focus on first.

The main areas are :

Creativity, Finances, Career, Education, Health, Physical Activity, Home Cooking, Home Environment, Relationships, Social Life, Joy, Spirituality.
